​AECI was registered as a company in South Africa in 1924 and has been listed on the JSE since 1966. AECI Medical Aid Society is managed by 6 Trustees.​

​The AECI Group currently comprises 16 businesses.​

AECI Medical Aid Society is a Restricted Scheme with restricted membership, covering all their divisions and pensioners.
