Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions section. This should be your first port-of-call if you have any queries regarding the module you are completing, your student account or the program.

All courses from the Online Academy are presented online. This means you do not attend any lectures, but access all course material through the learning website. The courses are designed with busy professionals in mind, and allow you to complete the course at a time that suits you. You also have the option of downloading and printing your course notes.
Yes, your learning profile is central to your learning experience. You can leave the site and continue your learning where you left off, whether you were working from a phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer.

What is the course structure?
The course consists of various modules. Each module has most of the following elements:
- Course notes
- Interactive notes
- Graphics
- Videos
- A multiple-choice assessment
Each course has several open book assessments. A learner will complete the course when they achieve a grade of 80% or more for each assessment in the programme. Learners are given two attempts at each assessment and a 3 week enrolment period. Learners will have unlimited attempts when accessing the course content and interactive notes.
How do I enroll into a course?
Being enrolled into a course means you are able to access the course and see its contents. Some courses offer a self-enrolment option which means you can choose when to access and start the course.

To enrol for a course that allows self-enrolment:
- Log into the digital learning platform on www.afrocentricacademy.co.za (or click on this link)
- In the top menu bar, click on My Courses to view the current courses you are enrolled in
- All the available courses will be displayed on your dashboard
- You can enrol into a course by clicking on the course/s you are interested in
- Then select "Enrol me"
Once you have been enroled, the course information will appear and the countdown timer will s begin this is seen on the right hand side of the screen.

What are the components on the learning platform?
The learning platform consists of the following main components:

- Dashboard - this is the first page you see after logging in. Here you will see the course which you are enrolled in click on the course to view their content.
- Course view - this is what you see when you are inside a course. Sometimes there are different modules to click on, or, for shorter courses, you will just see the resources.
- Module view - in the course view, click on a module to view the contents and assessments.
- Resources - these are the course notes and assessments that comprise the modules of a course.
- My Badges - will show the badges you have earned up to date.
How do I register for access to the courses?
To register as a user on the learning platform, follow the steps below:
- You need to register using an Afrocentric email or Afrocentric associated email address. Your personal email address will not be accepted.
- Open your web browser and enter the following URL www.afrocentricacademy.co.za (or click on this link)
- Click on the Register button.
- Fill in the form provided and submit using the button at the bottom of the page. Be sure to provide the correct details, as they will appear on your certificates.
- Remember, your password for your online academy profile will will not change when you change your password for your email.
